Vet visit prep

How to prepare for a vet visit with better notes

The most useful vet visits usually start with a clear timeline. Before you go, gather the symptoms you noticed, when they started, any medication given, appetite or behavior changes, and the questions you want answered.

A simple pre-visit checklist

What changed

Write down the main symptoms, the first day you noticed them, and whether they happen constantly, occasionally, or at certain times.

Appetite and bathroom habits

Track eating, drinking, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, urination, and any change from your pet's normal routine.

Medication and treatment history

List medications, supplements, recent procedures, and anything else you already tried at home or with a previous treatment plan.

Questions to ask

Write your questions ahead of time so you do not forget them once the appointment starts moving quickly.

Why this matters

If your pet has ongoing issues, a longer history is often more useful than one recent detail. PawChart is meant to help you keep that history organized between visits so you can show patterns instead of trying to reconstruct them on the spot.

PawChart helps organize pet health information and does not replace veterinary advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
